Making a wave for a
thriving ocean by 2050

WAVE is a collective action platform
striving towards the ambitious, yet
essential and attainable, goal of:

Ocean Regeneration within
a Human Generation

WAVE is the latest collective
action platform, led by HRH
Princess Reema Bandar Al-Saud,
and is powered by the Future
Investment Initiative (FII)
Institute, and in partnership with
the Ministry of Energy.

The Future Investment Initiative (FII)
Institute is a global nonprofit foundation
driven by data with an investment arm and
one agenda: Impact on Humanity. Global
and inclusive, we foster great minds from
around the world and turn ideas into real-
orld solutions in four critical areas:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Robotics,
Education, Healthcare and Sustainability.

“To chart a course towards a thriving ocean –
which is vital to our interconnected wellbeing
– we will propagate ripples of change and
unite them as one regenerative WAVE.”

Reema Bandar Al-Saud
Board Member, Future Investment Initiative Institute

“Our oceans, the heartbeats of our planet, are
gasping under unparalleled threats. As a scuba
diver I can tell that every moment we delay, a
piece of our marine soul withers. Yet, in these
dire times lies a chance – not just to shield
the intricate dance of marine life, but to
embrace the vast promise of a harmonious
blue economy. It’s more than an obligation;
it’s our legacy for the children of tomorrow.”

Our Why

The ocean is vital to the health of our planet, the global
economy, and our collective health. Yet, in recent times,
the ocean has been subjected to increasingly severe
alterations, from rising temperatures and sea levels to
acidification and loss of oxygen. These are taking a toll
on the ocean’s delicate ecosystems and negatively
impacting the rich tapestry of biodiversity it harbors.

These changes have far-reaching consequences on
systems we rely on for our way of life, affecting food
supply, increasing

flood frequency and severity and threatening to displace
hundreds of millions of people from their homes.

Without prompt and concerted action we face mounting
risks that will reverberate throughout our societies and
economies.

It is imperative to unlock collaboration at scale to
regenerate the richness of the ocean for a healthy future
for us all.

Our Vision

Ocean Regeneration within a Human Generation.

Our Mission

We engage diverse stakeholders across geographies,
industries, and sectors, harnessing their collective energy
to drive a global WAVE of regenerative ocean action.

Our Priorities

• The reduction of ocean pollution.
• The restoration of marine and coastal ecosystems.
• The sustainable management of ocean resources.
• The advancement of ocean-based climate solutions.
• The resilience of coastal communities.

Our Stakeholders

Everyone is welcome to join, everyone can contribute
and benefit from making a wave.

Our stakeholders are diverse and include individuals,
organizations, community groups, institutions and
corporations across all industries and sectors.

Our Guiding Values

We believe in…

Interconnected Wellbeing

…inspiring and mobilizing our youth, communities, and
organizations to be contributors to and benefit from ocean
regeneration.

Radical Collaboration

…connecting stakeholders and crafting partnerships across
industries, sectors and boundaries to amplify and accelerate
regenerative ocean action.

Inclusive Outcomes

…all actions, by individuals, organizations and governments are
equally important to create systemic, cumulative, sustainable
change.

Mindful Navigation

…being guided by science and data and continuous transparent
reporting on our collective progress to innovate, learn and share
knowledge.

Joy and Growth

…the journey is as important as the destination, and every
